Chocolate Cake Roses

No icing needed!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 TBSP cocoa
  • 2 Tbsp EVOO
  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 8 oz butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 Cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • Cream sugar and butter
  • Add beaten eggs, flour, buttermilk, soda, cocoa, and EVOO
  • Add hot water, mix, and stir in vanilla
  • Pour into 6 rose molds and remainder into an 8 x 8 pan
  • Bake for approximately 30 minutes

Notes

Cake doesn’t need to be iced and freezes well.
